He received Japanese government fellowship (MEXT fellowship) to pursue doctorate in Bio-regulatory medicine (Immunology) from Research Institute of Microbial Diseases, Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University, Japan in March 2008 for research on anti-viral innate immunity. He was selected as an excellent Ph.D. student for exceptional academic excellence in doctor course. He then continued his research in Laboratory of Host Defense, WPI Immunology Frontier Research Center (WPI-IFReC), Osaka University, Japan as JSPS postdoctoral fellow. He joined IISER Bhopal as an Assistant Professor & Ramanujan Fellow in July 2010. Currently he is working as a Professor at IISER Bhopal and is associated with WPI-IFReC as an Adjunct Professor. He has been selected as a Member of the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) in the year 2020.”
