Any society's socio-economic advancement is contingent upon its ability to minimize environmental degradation while effectively utilizing its natural resources. As a result, minerals that possess economic value and utilization become the foundation of any advanced society. My research at this institute is focused on the fundamental comprehension of mineral genesis in relation to plate tectonic processes and fluid flow. Geological exploration of semi-precious and economically significant minerals, including lithium-bearing mica, corundum, and rare-earth-element (REE) minerals, is the focus of my research. Additionally, in order to align my research with the National Mission of Zero Carbon Economy and identify the raw material for energy-storage devices, I am interested in investigating the geological locations of graphite and REE-bearing minerals and the manner in which their chemistry influences the electric conductivity of energy-storage devices. I employ geological mapping, state-of-the-art thermodynamic computation, and AI models to forecast the presence of these minerals in India.
