His research interests encompass “calibration” as well as “utilization” of geochemical and isotope proxies to learn better about earth surface processes. Rare earths and radiogenic isotopes in weathered continental materials are routinely utilized to decipher the environmental conditions over source regions and the climatic influences on the eolian/riverine sediment transport. Besides the scarcity of radiogenic isotope data on various sediment source regions, the radiogenic isotope fractionation in those materials during their production, transport and post-deposition is however yet to be fully understood. He wants to fill this research gap.
