    Dr. Parik Kakani
pkakani@iiserb.ac.in As a researcher trained in the fundamental of Biological Sciences, my research interfaces the disciplines of Molecular biology, Cell biology, Genetic engineering, and Bioinformatics. I have completed my Ph.D. from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, India where I have led the molecular-level approach to find potential malaria transmission-blocking vaccine candidates. I did M.Sc. Genetic Engineering from School of Biotechnology, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. Currently, I aim to investigate the CTCF/BORIS associated epigenetic complex that regulates the metastasis genes. In addition, I am also decoding the regulatory mechanisms that derive divergent expression of the two duplicated genes, CTCF, and BORIS. In the future, this will open up new frontiers in designing anti-cancer drug/therapeutics targeting CTCF/BORIS associated epigenetic complexes.
