RESEARCH AREA
In our bionanotechnology lab, we perform fundamental research as well as applied research at the interface of biology and nanotechnology. Research themes are mainly classified into three interconnected field. In supramolecular chemistry, we investigate properties of individual molecule and its interaction with other molecules with weak non-covalent interactions. We synthesize fluorescent nanoparticles and attach biomolecules (e.g. protein, DNA, drugs etc.) on nanoparticles surface to understand biological events, linked with cancer, using single-molecule fluorescence techniques. We are also undertaking organic synthesis of molecule for fundamental photophysical study, bioconjugation and surface modification of fluorescent nanoparticles.
