    Dr. Ashok Cheemala
acheemala@iiserb.ac.in I am currently working at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhopal as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from November 2019. I received a Ph.D. Degree from Pondicherry Central University, Pondicherry with the Department of Biotechnology in October 2019. Prior to joining Pondicherry Central University I pursued Masters Degree in Applied Genetics from Bangalore University, Bangalore. My primary research interests lies in Cancer Biology, Epigenetics, and Alternative Splicing. My present work mainly focuses on 1. Transcriptional regulation of splicing factors involved in EMT under hypoxia. 2. Hypoxia-Mediated DNMT3B Alternative Splicing in Breast cancer Tumorigenesis.

    Dr. Parik Kakani
pkakani@iiserb.ac.in As a researcher trained in the fundamental of Biological Sciences, my research interfaces the disciplines of Molecular biology, Cell biology, Genetic engineering, and Bioinformatics. I have completed my Ph.D. from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, India where I have led the molecular-level approach to find potential malaria transmission-blocking vaccine candidates. I did M.Sc. Genetic Engineering from School of Biotechnology, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. Currently, I aim to investigate the CTCF/BORIS associated epigenetic complex that regulates the metastasis genes. In addition, I am also decoding the regulatory mechanisms that derive divergent expression of the two duplicated genes, CTCF, and BORIS. In the future, this will open up new frontiers in designing anti-cancer drug/therapeutics targeting CTCF/BORIS associated epigenetic complexes.

syadav@iiserb.ac.in I completed my M.Sc in Biotechnology from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur(2010-2012) and joined as a Graduate student in Epigenetics and RNA processing laboratory, IISER Bhopal in January 2015. I am currently working on effect of nutraceuticals on alternative splicing via induced epigenetic modifications in oral cancer.

    Neha Ahuja
nehavs2@iiserb.ac.in I completed my M.Sc in Biotechnology from Savitribaiphule Pune University, Pune (2013-14) and joined as Graduate student in Epigenetics and RNA processing laboratory, IISER Bhopal in August, 2015. I am broadly working on "Hypoxia-mediated expansion of transcriptome due to epigenetic modifications in breast cancer tumorigenesis"

    Madhura Ravindra Pandkar
madhura17@iiserb.ac.in After completing M.Sc. in Microbiology from Savitribai Phule Pune University in 2016, I joined Epigenetics and RNA Processing Lab as a Ph.D. scholar in December, 2017. Since my undergraduate days, the world of cancer biology has always intrigued me. In this lab, my research mainly focuses on understanding the role of transcription factors in hypoxia mediated alternative splicing in breast cancer.

    Pooja Yadav
poojay@iiserb.ac.in I did my M.Sc in zoology from University of Rajasthan and joined the lab in January 2018. I am mainly focussing on understanding the hypoxia induced alteration in expression of splicing factor and their role in tumorigenesis

    Deepak Pant
deepak18@iiserb.ac.in "Having completed my MSc from University of Delhi, I joined ERPL as a PhD scholar in August 2018. I am currently working on hypoxia-induced differential expression of splicing factors in breast cancer"

    Shruti Dhamdhere
shruti19@iiserb.ac.in After completing Masters in Biotechnology from Savitribai Phule Pune University in May, 2019, I joined Epigenetics and RNA Processing Lab as a PhD Scholar in July, 2019. I have always been keen to work and research in the field of Epigenetics and Cancer Biology. In this lab, my work focuses on contribution of HIF1A in alternative splicing of various cancer related genes and their impact on tumorigenesis.

    Mutnuru S Abhishek
mutnuru19@iiserb.ac.in I completed my Masters in Biosciences from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of higher learning post which I worked at IISc for 15 months on the project titled; Role of AMPK signaling in murine mammary gland development. At ERPL, I am interested in studying the interplay between hypoxia signaling and alternative splicing in breast cancer.

    Anchala Pandey
anchala20@iiserb.ac.in In July 2020 I have completed my post graduation in biotechnology from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidhalay, Indore I joined Epigenetics and RNA processing lab in August,2020. I found Studying cancer with the approch of Epigenetics and Alternative splicing is fascinating.

BS-MS Students

    Vishnu Narayanan S S
vishnun229@iiserb.ac.in "I am currently pursuing my BS-MS Dual degree from IISER Bhopal. I am extremely motivated to learn more about alterations in gene regulation seen in cancer cells. In ERPL lab, under the guidance of Dr. Sanjeev Shukla, my efforts are to explore hypoxia mediated changes in alternative splicing and its role in tumorigenesis."

    Subhashis Natua
snatua@iiserb.ac.in "I am a BSMS student at IISER Bhopal. I have always been fascinated by cancer research, and it is this interest that has led me to do an internship at ACTREC, Navi Mumbai. There I happened to study the role of cell- free chromatin in various physiological aspects and diseases including cancer. Recently, the crosstalk between epigenetics and alternative splicing in tumorigenesis ignited my interest, and that propelled me to join ERPL as an MS project student under the supervision of Dr. Sanjeev Shukla."

    Anna Cherian
acherian@iiserb.ac.in "I am a BSMS student at IISER Bhopal. I joined ERPL as an MS project student under the supervision of Dr. Sanjeev Shukla."

    Radhika Mishra
radhikamishra@iiserb.ac.in "Currently a 4th year BSMS student, making a difference in the field of Cancer Biology was my prime motivation for pursuing a major in Biological Sciences. Having joined ERPL lab in 2018 December, under the mentor-ship of Dr. Sanjeev Shukla, I hope to accomplish just that. My work here focuses on exploring the role of Hypoxia inducible factors in alternative splicing and tumorigenesis."
