About me

While perusing Masters in Plant Science I thought it would be fun to work with animal models. I have been interested to work with animal model in general, but became particularly interested in synaptic growth and function in my graduate studies. Prior to joining IISER Bhopal, I worked in the area of stem cell biology at IIT Guwahati studying mesenchymal stem cells for bone tissue engineering. At the Neurogenetics lab, I am trying to understand the role of BAR domain containing proteins at the Drosophila neuromuscular junction in the context of synaptic growth and receptor trafficking. I have screened the available Drosophila BAR-domain proteins for their possible function at fly NMJ synapses and currently elucidating synaptic function of Drosophila ICA69. I was born and raised in eastern Orissa, Balasore. In my free time,I like to play guitar, listen music and watch movies.
