What is AdS/CFT ?

My research in this direction

I am mostly interested in the finite temperature version of this conjecture. The finite temperature case in particular is interesting because one can analyze the mysterious thermodynamical nature of black holes using the dual field theory at finite temperature and vice versa. In fact there exists an amazing equivalences between confinement-deconfinement transition in gauge theory, and gravitational phase transition to black hole geometry (Hawking-Page transition).
I work on both sides of the AdS/CFT correspondence, i.e. on the Gauge theory side as well as on the (super)gravity side. The main aim of my research has been to understand different aspects of both the sides and find connection between them.
